Curriculum Policy of Cooperative Major in Advanced Health Science
- Through a joint graduate school curriculum with Waseda University, students will learn a wide range of subjects, including specialized subjects, core subjects, and seminars related to agriculture, engineering, and health sciences related to advanced health sciences, as well as the various systems that connect them, and will acquire multifaceted basic knowledge and a variety of cutting-edge experimental and measurement techniques. In addition, students will acquire the ability to develop original research, set goals, and develop technology through advanced health science seminars and thesis guidance.
- Through specialized life science and environmental science lectures and core major subjects, students will learn about the interrelationships of the broadly interdisciplinary fields that make up the health science field, and the foundations that support the knowledge and skills of specialized fields, and will develop the ability to identify issues in each specialized field and those interdisciplinary or fusion fields. In addition, students will work on professional communication through practical English education subjects, and international English skills through technical presentations, and will develop problem-solving abilities through advanced health science research and practical presentations in seminar subjects, and will develop the ability to plan and implement solutions.
- We encourage students to participate in overseas training through practical training and presentations at international conferences, and to develop practical presentation skills and a sense for cutting-edge science and technology in an international research environment. At the same time, we aim to develop students' communication, discussion and facilitation skills, which they have acquired through practical English education courses, and to develop them into leadership talent in international arenas.
In order to develop engineers, researchers and educators who have acquired the skills set out in the diploma policy, grades are assessed by exams and reports for lectures, and by reports and oral exams for experiments, practical training and exercises. Exam grades for course subjects are expressed in five grades: S, A, B, C and D, with S, A, B and C being passes and D being a fail. Those who pass are awarded the appropriate number of credits. In addition, for dissertations, the examination criteria and methods are clearly stated, and the dissertation examination and final examination are conducted rigorously by the Dissertation Examination Committee based on theses.
